As the rain is absolutely pouring outside, I just sat down on the sofa with my coffee and favorite blanket to enjoy a few quiet moments with you. I take the cup to enjoy that perfect first sip - and pour it riiiight next to my mouth, down on my lap and over my keyboard.

The last job I had before I started painting full-time was as an Art Director for a children's wear brand. The job is mainly about planning photo shoots, using the best photographers/stylists/make up-artists there is and traveling to remote locations to get the best shots possible of the products. High stakes, enormous budgets and…. drumroll please…..children. Children that almost always prefers running, screaming or getting naked before doing what they're told in front of a camera. We had some tricks up our sleeves of course, Baby Shark (never again, please) being one of our strongest cards, but sometimes we just had to find the upside of showing a pair of pants running out of the frame. I'm trained for challenges, I can handle setbacks. Nothing will shake the confidence I have in my job as having a toddler on set. With that said - I've had to move about a bit slower lately due to the burnout that still hits me every now and again like a sack of bricks. It's frustrating at best, but it is what it is.

That's not at all what I was planning on writing today but when coffee hits your lap you've gotta listen to the universe, right?

I'm all set up in the gallery now and will be there tomorrow (Saturday) between 11-14 for anyone in the area - come say hi!
